Using a flash extender

The flash extender has a sensor on the end of a lead. The sensor is attached to one of the infrared LEDs on your camera. When your camera's flash lights up, the sensor detects this and activates the flash extender.

To convert any camera so that it emits no visible light, all remaining LEDs on the camera are simply blacked out using heavy duty duct tape.
